Counselling and Therapy – Client Confidentiality
Respecting client confidentiality is a fundamental requirement for keeping trust. At Beechmount, we are committed to protecting personally identifiable and sensitive information from unauthorised disclosure that does not have the client’s consent. The therapy practitioners at Beechmount operate within the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework for Good Practice, which includes the appropriate level of professional supervision.

Coaching - Client/Sponsor Confidentiality
Beechmount acknowledges that our work may be of a sensitive and confidential nature and we undertake to keep all information relating to the employees, customers, practices, policies, procedures and activities of the Client’s organisation, confidential, and will:-
• not without the prior written consent of the client’s organization, disclose or reveal information, in full or in part, to any person other than officers of the client’s organisation.
• not use information for any purpose other than to carry out the task for which the information has been made available – within the Coaching Agreement
• not keep or copy information in any form whatsoever, except for the fulfilment of Beechmount’s duties in accordance with the completion of the work as described in the Coaching Agreement, without the prior written consent of the client’s organisation.
• ensure that information received by Beechmount will at all times be under Beechmount’s control and any documents or copies thereof will be returned to the client’s organisation forthwith upon request.
This confidentiality undertaking will not apply to information which:-
(a) at the time of being obtained by Beechmount is legitimately within the public domain; or
(b) after being obtained by Beechmount comes within the public domain other than by reason of a breach by Beechmount of the undertakings contained in this Agreement; or
(c) is properly received by Beechmount from a third party who is rightfully in possession of it.
In addition, the detail of all coaching discussions will be kept in strictest confidence by the coach. The only information relating to the coaching discussions will be collected and fed back by the coach to the organisation through the formal review processes and if required, through the reporting back on general organisational themes and trends identified by the coach.
Controlling your personal information
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Beechmount, PO Box 3344, Norwich NR7 7GH.
If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
